The "Shuang Xi" symbol represents a doubled or twin version of the chinese character 僖 (xi) which means joyful, merry or happy.  This symbol is commonly used in weddings as decoration or as a gift to newlyweds. It is also given to people as a sign of best wishes for their happiness.
