Kang Zhan Jie

Kang Zhan Jie started paper cutting way back during the time of Chairman Mao Zhe Dong. He became well known and awarded multiple times for his series of paper cuts on Mao Zhe Dong. He is famous in China for his artistry in rendering simple subjects like fish, animals and simple fauna and flora scenes on paper cuts. Mr. Kang also at one time created a 50 meter long paper cut that was featured in a lot of exhibitions and was a main news item in China. Mr. Kang is a native of Shijiazhuang City in the province of Hebei.

Jian Hong
Art Style : Hebei
Jian Hong is one of the young upcoming paper cut artists in China. There are very few young chinese people like her who are interested in the art of paper cutting. Jian Hong was trained by Kang Zhan Jie and has made a name of her own by winning some paper cut art competitions. She works in a paper cut studio in Shijiazhuang City of Hebei Province.

Rock Xu Yi

Rock Xu Yi is our in-house artist. He is from Shandong Province. Rock holds a fine arts degree and during his university days has won various art competitions. He is one of the young Chinese artists who gives the Art of Chinese Paper Cutting a schooled and more modern artistic touch.

Ye Kai Yuan
Art Style : Zhan Pu
Ye Kai Yuan was born in Nov. 1984 in Zhang Pu County, a place famous for its unique paper cutting style. He started learning Chinese paper cutting when he was 10. He has a degree in Fine Arts and has won awards for his entries in national paper cut art competitions in China. His paper cut art is characterized by a mix of modern fine art and the traditional elements of Chinese Paper Cut Art.

Zhang Rui
Art Style : Art Nouveau
Zhang Rui comes from Shandong Province and graduated from the China Art University. She has developed her own paper cut art style that combines her Chinese Water Color background and the traditional nuances of Chinese Paper Cut Art. Her Paper Cut Art has unique flowing lines interrupted by some intended distortions. Her favorite are paper cut subjects are flowers and women.

Fu Qing Quan
Art Style : Hailun
Fu Qing Quan comes from a family of paper cut artists in Helionjiang Province. Her father - Fu Zuo Ren, is a famous paper cut artist in China. At the age of 8, she already started designing her own paper cut art work. She has since childhood won many paper cut art awards for her excellent work. She is of Man Nationality and this shows in her preference for showing subjects depicting Man Nationality people, culture and sceneries.

Han Feng Qi
Art Style : Hebei
A paper cut senior citizen in Hebei province, Han Feng Qi is the vice president of the Hebei Paper Cut Association. He has spent a good 20 years creating paper cut art, teaching young people how to do paper cuts and researching about Chinese Paper Cutting. He has won many paper cut competitions in China.

Wang Hong Chuan
Art Style : Mongolian
Wang Hong Chuan is from Inner Mongolia. She has a strong academic background on Paper Cut Art. She holds a Master's Degree on China Folk Arts from the well known China Fine Art Academy in Beijing. She has done extensive studies and research on the history, traditions and styles of Paper Cut Art in China and also Paper Cut Art in other countries. Her Paper Cut Art is heavily influenced by Mongolian Culture and Folk Art design.

Han Jing
Art Style : Shanxi
Han Jing comes from Shanxi Province. He is a protégé of  master paper cut artist - Ku Shu Lan. He has published books about his Paper Cut Art in China and Hong Kong. Han Jing regularly does local and international exhibitions to promote his art works. Han Jing is also the chairman of the Paper Cut organization in his hometown.

Fu Zuo Ren
Art Style : Hailun
Fu Zuo Ren was born in 1935 in Helionjiang Province. He is considered as one of the paper cut art masters in China, having won various awards both in local and international art competitions for his art works. Fu Zuo Ren has a unique style that is hard to classify. It is his own unique approach to paper cut art. His creations have very fine detail and uses repetitive patterns that is uniquely Fu Zuo Ren's. He had created a lot of paper cut art depicting the cultural revolution in China.

Wang Feng
Art Style : Yu Xian
Wang Feng is both a paper cut artist and a businessman. His early exposure to paper cut art in his hometown of Yu Xian led him to pursue a full time career in paper cutting. He has put up a paper cut studio with 180 craftsmen creating paper cuts for the tourist and gifts market in China. His craftsmen reproduces in big volume traditional Yu Xian style paper cuts.

Jiao Brothers

The Jiao Brothers is the third generation of paper cut artists in their family. Their grandfather was a famous paper cut artist in China. Together the brothers founded a Paper Cut Art Center where they exhibit and showcase their paper cut designs. A number of Paper Cut Art from their center have won national awards.

Lin Yu Qing
Art Style : Hailun
Lin Yu Qing learned paper cutting from her mother and sisters. This started her passion for creating paper cut art which she did when time permits when she was working as a police woman. After she retired from the police force, Lin Yu Qing devoted most of her time in creating paper cut designs, some of which have won recognition in paper cut exhibitions in China. She comes from Helionjiang Province and is of Man nationality.

Sha Xu Xiang
Art Style : Hailun
Sha Xu Xiang is from Shandong Province and is of Hui Nationality. She and her husband are both artists. Her passion for paper cut art has earned her awards and recognition for the artistic quality of her paper cut designs.

Shi Li Hua
Art Style : Hailun
Shi Li Hua is one of the few paper cut artists who use scissors to create paper cuttings. She does not make any initial drawings and cuts the paper directly using the design which is currently in her mind. This makes all her paper cut art unique. No two are the same. She learned how to do paper cuttings from her mother. She is now a professor in a university in China teaching students about Chinese Paper Cut Art.

Yu Zhong Hou

Yu Zhong Hou specializes in making Opera Mask paper cuts. He lives in Hailun, a small town in Heliongjiang Province. Hailun has a community of  paper cut artists and Yu Zhong Hou is the head of the culture department in Hailun focusing on Hailun Paper Cut Art.

Zhou He
Art Style : Yu Xian
Zhou He was born in Yu County in Hebei Province. This county has a village thriving with paper cut artists and craftsmen. Zhou He since childhood has been into paper cut art. He is well known in China for his colorful and artistic paper cut renditions of flora and fauna. He has done wall sized paper cut art currently adorning government and private buildings. Zhou He operates his own paper cut art gallery in Yu County.

Zhou Yu
Art Style : Yu Xian
Zhou Yu got his early start in paper cutting being the son of a famous paper cut artist in China. His father, Zhou Yong Ming, is a recognized national paper cut artist in China.  Following his father's footsteps, Zhou Yu also earned recognition for his paper cut art work in various exhibitions and art competitions all over China.

Zhou Zhao Ming

Zhou Zhao Ming is over 70 years old and still active in creating paper cut art. He devotes a lot of his time as chairman of the Hebei Province Paper Cut Organization. 

Gao Dian Liang
Art Style : Hebei
Gao Dian Liang in 1990 won the top award for best paper cut art in the Hebei Folk Art Festival. He created a paper cut rendition of a well known painting depicting the scenery of the town of Qing Ming. This paper cut creation of Gao Dian Liang was also exhibited in international art exhibitions.

Unknown Artist
Art Style : Various
Folk Artists from the country-side for generations have been prolific at creating various paper cut art designs that up to this day are cut out by paper cut craftsmen and made by paper cut factories employing hundreds of craftsmen. These craft people have made their own unique adaptations of these traditional paper cut designs. It is difficult to trace who the original folk artist was since no records are found nor signatures made on these art work.  We can say there are no artistic copyrights on these art work and many craftsmen reproduce it.
